 Born
and raised in north Qld Australia, Donna grew up the eldest of 3 girls.
It was a normal average happy household, full of fun, excitement, socializing,
travel and successful family relationships, with her awesome parents there
to love and guide her.
It was a time when you could hang out in the streets till dark and ride
bikes in the bush without having a mobile phone and an adult around for
protection. You could also get a huge white bag of lollies from the corner
shop for 20 cents. Yummo.
It was also a time when a smack was normal for back chatting. There was
door slamming, yelling, screaming and fighting with her 2 gorgeous sisters.
Not being allowed to do anything all her other friends were doing. Or
so she thought at the time. Then there was the general teenage rebellious
behavior, the grounding at home and the school detentions. Yep we've all
been there done that to a certain degree. Donna chooses not to go into
detail as she would hate to give new ideas to our young ones.
Since leaving high school (in those days year 10 was sufficient to get
a great job) she has been a hairdresser, beautician, travel agent, resort
manager, fashion consultant, a business owner, a school admin assistant,
a teachers aide, a teenage mentor, an international property investor,
co-founder of Rise and Shine Business Womens Breakfasts on the coast,
a daughter, a sister, an aunty, a mother, a godmother, a granddaughter,
a wife, a friend, and today she adds an Inspirational Author to her vast
array of creative talents.
Donna
met her wonderful husband in 1980, her soulmate, and traveled around the
world settling back in the wonderful world of oz. They have 2 awesome
teenage kids, Kyal and Kelsie. They have lived on the Sunshine Coast for
the past 8 years.
These
days Wayne and Donna are reliving their teenage years all over again,
this time they are the parents, loving, protecting and giving advice and
freedom of choice, to their two gorgeous teenagers. Sometimes the kids
listen sometimes they don't. Sometimes they get it right sometimes they
don't. You know what, that's all OK in the bigger scheme of things, because
they are living their lives intertwined with one another and guided by
each other as one of many happy healthy successful family units full of
love and peace, within Our World.
